Friends of Metung, in association with FOGL have recently been advised that their application for funding through the Parks Victoria ‘Healthy Parks, Healthy People Community Group Grants’ has been successful, with $10,000 being allocated to the project. Friends of Metung, FOGL and Parks Victoria met with Keith Bone from East Gippsland Water today to discuss land owned and managed by East Gippsland Water in the Metung Bushland Reserve.
East Gippsland Water are to install bollards and gates to hopefully end the inappropriate usage of the Reserve as a 4wd and motorbike track.
 

An onsite meeting between Parks Victoria, Friends of Metung and Friends of the Gippsland Lakes Parks and Reserves has occured and the informal Memorandum of Understanding agreed to is as follows:
