MBR working bee May 22 achievements

The working bee went very well on Sat 22 May.
We achieved the following :

The gate was installed at the bottom of the park (end of Christmas Street)
Two Parks Vic signs showing “Metung Bushland Reserve” were installed. One at the bottom of the park and the other at the entrance near the school

Big Working Bee Sat 22 May

A working bee will take pace on Saturday, 22nd May, commencing at 9.00 am and concluding 3.00pm.
Because of budget constraints (the original Parks Vic grant of 10,000 is almost exhausted) please bring your own lunch and refreshments.

Our Grant Application Successful!

Friends of Metung, in association with FOGL have recently been advised that their application for funding through the Parks Victoria ‘Healthy Parks, Healthy People Community Group Grants’ has been successful, with $10,000 being allocated to the project. National Tree Day Planting in MBR

Friends of Metung and the students of Metung Primary School held a planting day on Monday 3rd Aug as a follow up to National Tree Day. Since our Community Day in June, East Gippsland Water has installed bollards and gates as their contribution to the track blockage project. Excellent signage has also been attached to the gates. East Gippsland Water doing their bit

Friends of Metung, FOGL and Parks Victoria met with Keith Bone from East Gippsland Water today to discuss land owned and managed by East Gippsland Water in the Metung Bushland Reserve.
East Gippsland Water are to install bollards and gates to hopefully end the inappropriate usage of the Reserve as a 4wd and motorbike track.
